We planned to leave the air B&B by 9 to get early check in on our canal boat. Kathy and Chris had rented a car for their use in Spain where they arrived and will depart. We piled in with 3 of us and most of our belongings. Ginny was left to put the food and wine together as well as having time to scout the house for anything left behind.
We got on our boat around 10 with plenty of time to unpack and get organized. Chris was then given a run through of systems and a driving lesson on our wide and heavy boat. We learned about all the systems many of which are similar to our own boats.

Next it was time to provision. Chris drove Kathy and me to the nearby supermarket. We had already planned our shopping list. It’s easy to impulse buy particularly when everything looks good.
The 3 of us found everything on the list plus a few extras. It’s hard to resist olives, cornichons and caper berries.
We quickly loaded everything into the car and then onto the boat with the help of all crew. We discovered storage spots behind all the salt seats as well as a few shelves in empty cabinets. Lunch consisted of yesterday’s charcuterie board leftovers and some Spanish clementines.
After lunch a few of us strolled around town. Saturday afternoons are very quiet and mostly everything was closed.
We found a nice fish restaurant for dinner and made a reservation. Dinner was delicious.
Back at the boat we got organized for our first day going down the canal. And then off to sleep.
