We ate breakfast at the hotel. It was easy and not too early. My cousin Bobbi suggested that we visit the church of Saint Germain des pres. it is perhaps even more beautiful inside than Notre Dame and much less crowded.

We walked down boulevard saint Germain stopping at Barthelemy, my favorite cheese shop and picked up some tiny bites for lunch. The perfume shop Fragonard was another stop. I love their scents.
We decided to have a light lunch stop of cheese, wine and an omelette. Then we continued on our way to the Musee D’Orsay to see a Renoir show that was actually 2 parts: first his drawings and then his paintings. It was incredible to see so much work. Many familiar pieces were exhibited. I don’t generally take photos of shows because I much prefer to appreciate the art as I see it.

We wandered the museum for a bit until it was time to leave for dinner.
We walked across the Seine to reach the subway to take us to the 10th arrondisement where we planned to eat. Paris by mouth, a foodie website, had suggested a restaurant that turned out to be yummy and not too fancy. Country pate, white asparagus, roasted shishito peppers and then a little beef steak made for a shared meal that was more than enough.
We returned easily on the Metro and stopped at a quiet spot for a nightcap. Great day. Busy. Tomorrow we are free to wander. Probably the Picasso museum will be on our plans.
