Arriving at Terminal 1 at JFK at 7:25 am is a bit unusual. There is no one around. The ticket counters aren’t open but security allows me through since I have already checked in on line. I meet Kris, my nurse anesthesia companion, and we search out the only open lounge at 7:30. JFK is being overhauled. This terminal needs it. All the international flights that don’t have a separate terminal are here. It’s a mix of the world flights. Asiana airlines probably doesn’t fly too many planes out of JFK.
The AIR France lounge is ok. Breakfast is available. Now we wait to embark on a 15 hour flight to Seoul, followed by a 5 hour flight to Hanoi.

After 15 hours of flight, we have reached Seoul. It is 3 am in NYC. The boredom of such a long flight is interrupted by meals, movies and naps. The meals are not great. The movie selection is limited and I tried to take little naps to hold off for sleep once we reach Vietnam. The 12 hour time difference is a challenge.
OMG – I did not know you were leaviing AGAIN! I was about to ask Joan about lunch together! Safe travels and let’s do lunch when you return. XA
