We are all scattering to other places. Some have gone home but many of us have chosen to stay and travel in Vietnam or nearby countries.
Kris and I flew to DaNang today. It’s about a 75 minute flight. We decided to check our bags rather than carry on. Great decision!! We walked downstairs from the gate to a bus and upstairs to the plane. We landed around 2pm. Grab which is the local Uber was available to take us to Hoi An.
The 40 minute ride cost about $14. We arrived at the Marriott Renaissance to have beachfront views and enormous rooms. Once we were settled, we hopped the free van into town. Hoi An is known for making hand tailored clothes. We had to investigate. The hotel told us the best places to go. It’s overwhelming to have what seems to be an enormous choice of fabrics and styles. I must say that many of the styles were not to my taste but I decided to try a pair of linen pants. My measurements were taken and I will return tomorrow for a fitting. I think they might be nice. Certainly the price is right. The whole town is filled with seamstresses.

We returned to the hotel after a short while. Kris hasn’t been feeling perfect and dinner at a local spot in town seemed like a bad idea. Dinner in the hotel was not exotic but it was delicious and easy.
Tomorrow we have a long morning of tours to various spots. We both decided to relax and get to bed early.
