26 July 2025 – Saturday – To Vatersay (population 90)

We left Eriskay this morning after a leisurely breakfast. The weather forecast looked dicey for this afternoon so we decided to go to Vatersay which is the farthest point on our cruise. It was a windy chilly trip. Vatersay which is almost the end of the chain of the outer Hebrides islands has a beautiful  sandy beach that looks inviting but almost immediately after we arrived, the wind and rain moved in. It is predicted that the rain and wind will continue throughout the night. Luckily we are securely anchored in the harbor.

We stayed on board and had a delicious dinner of lamb burgers, pan fried French fries, peas and salad. It was a yummy dinner with lots of good conversation. We are hopeful that the rain and wind will die down so that we can go to the party tomorrow afternoon at a beachfront location that is inside a big building where weather won’t matter much. But we need to get there.
Another good day!
