23 July 2035 – Wednesday – Skye

We spent a quiet night at anchor in Loch Scavaig. Since we planned to stay another day, we slept a bit late and had a nice big frittata for breakfast along with scones that had been a gift from our guests in Tobermory. It was a nice start to our day.
We then got ready to take the dinghy ashore to hike the very scenic section we were anchored off on Skye. It was a misty morning which is typical here. The hike was a bit challenging crossing some muddy slippery terrain but the vistas were spectacular. I didn’t go quite as far as Doug and Dale but they showed me a photo of a group of girls swimming in the Loch. The water felt warm-ish but none of us was tempted. This loch is a big tourist attraction.

When we returned to the boat, our toilet was again non-functional. Bill tried several times to get the suction for the flush to work. It’s a messy smelly job. Unfortunately, he was unable to get the toilet to work properly. So we will all use one toilet. We remarked that it was rather like living in a dormitory. So it goes.

We had visitors for cocktails from one of our group who was anchored next to us. It is always fun to compare sea stories. We are all departing quite early tomorrow morning in order to reach our next destination, Talisker with a distillery tour and lunch. It should be fun and interesting. I have taken a distillery tour before but each one is different and this area of Scotland specializes in peaty “smoky” scotch.

Dinner was an Indian chicken dish that was fast and easy. We have all gone to bed in anticipation of our early departure. It will be light at 4 am so our 6 am departure should have good visibility if it’s not foggy.
No internet connection here. This will get posted once we get closer to more dense population.
