We left our anchorage this morning with an unsure destination because many of the potential ports can accommodate only a few boats. We had good wind and favorable current once we passed the point of Ardnamurchan. This point is an important milestone. For reasons that I don’t yet know, once you pass the point, you put Heather on the bow. We had picked Heather during our walk amongst the ferns a few days ago in anticipation of this event.

It was rainy, chilly and grey for most of the day. But we had very good wind except for one point when we were between 2 islands when the wind was blanketed by hills. We were well ahead of other boats going in the same direction. So we decided to go to Loch Scavaig which has a small 4 boat anchorage surrounded by cliffs and waterfalls. It is a very scenic and serene spot.

Unfortunately, we had one major problem. One of our toilets became stopped up so Bill, our skipper, had to fix it. Luckily, I reached out to Mark Lenci for advice and he was able to give Bill directions on what might work. It was unpleasant work to be sure but having 6 people use one bathroom was not ideal. Luckily, it all resolved. We went on to have a nice dinner. We look forward to a very quiet night.
