HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO AMAZING ANNE !!
I was asked by some friends who are a couple on a beautiful boat if I could come with them for the day to help with the planned sunflower raft. Of course I asked my boat if they would mind and then I was picked up at 8:15 to join them. Peter and Candy have been living on their boat in Europe off and on for several years. They usually sail alone but today they needed an extra person to help set up with the sunflower. The boats set up with 8 large boats at anchor at 8 compass points. They are connected to a central anchor for stability. It took all morning into the afternoon to finally get everyone situated. When you see the photo you may understand why.
In the meantime, we had lunch with some nice white wine and a birthday carrot cake. It was fun to be on a different boat.
It started to get windy and rainy so we broke the circle which was rather crazy. Some boats were still tied together as they left the group.
I grabbed one of the patrol boats to bring me back to my original boat. I knew my group had planned to stay anchored so I was able to jump on board.
Then our boat had invited the boat next to us for dinner. We made a big pot of pasta with bolognese sauce and a big salad. We had a fun evening with a group of Irishmen and women! Such a fun evening.
We leave tomorrow to travel north and west towards Skye where we have plans to visit Talisker.
Lots of fun today. Early start tomorrow. Time to sleep and get ready.
