Nights at sea are quiet. With a rising moon there is visibility on the water that makes for a nice view rather than staring at radar and chart plotter all night.
It was sunny most of the day and we were joined by several packs of dolphins playing in our bow wake. One is seen in the photo.
Fog closed in off and on as we approached Newfoundland. The water temperature had dropped and the warm air made fog inevitable. As we moved further north, the two temperatures came closer together, the fog lifted and we saw land and lights.

We filled the eastern shore of Newfoundland all night. The sky was dark with occasional lightning but no rain. We passed the port of St John around 2 am so our arrival at the Royal Newfoundland yacht club will be early morning.
Our plan is to add fuel, tie up at the dock and drink Bloody Mary’s in celebration!
